You are correct, I just checked and it appears that this feature has been removed from the macs over the past few years, so forget my suggestion.

My 2011 Mini died for the second time so rather than get a new logic board (again!), I went for a new M1 model.
It involved switching from AIR TO USB.
I use audirvana and continue with that.
Very happy with USB on the M1 - can;'t notice any difference to AIR.
Devialet 250 FW 9.0.1 SOLD
Replaced with Naim NSC222 and NAP250 NC

Atohm GT SE1, REL stereo Subwoofers. Atacama stands filled with atabites. Granite speaker stand plinths. Mogami speaker cables, Music Works heavy duty power cable.

Did you try firmware swapping on your 250? 7.1.3 for example? 10.1.0? 9.0.1 might be a good match for your speakers. I remember trying it, but I honestly can't remember how it sounded Smile
