Remote not working
#1
Hi

My remote suddenly stopped working. I have changed the batteries, no difference. I can still control the amp with my iPad. I checked the configuration on the SD card and all seems OK.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Have you moved the Devialet - some people have reported issues when wall mounting as the RF received the the Dev' is then effectively shielded.

It's also worth 'resetting/pairing' the remote when it is in close proximity to the Dev' - take batteries out & refit.

The use the lower right remote button to cycle through the settings to see what the remote is shown as (I know you need the remote to work for this to work).

Rik

PS A little obvious but are the batteries oriented correctly?

Try booting with a default settings (No SD card), there is a SD card setting to disable the Rf remote, perhaps that has become enabled by accident?

Tried the default config. and made sure that the remote is enabled in custom config. Still no joy.

Are there any new RF emitting devices in your house? I found that a certain brand of universal remotes that used RF interfered with the Devialet. I would turn off all RF emitting devices and see if that helps.

I eventually had a replacement Devialet sent to me. I bought one of the first 170s and was told there was a hardware issue with the first few 170 remotes.

Sorry Alex,

No idea then. I'm not sure how the initial Rf pairing happens otherwise I'd suggest un-pairing & re-pairing the remote. I've a vague recollection of seeing something on the Dev' web-site but as that site is a shifting sand I can't find it again,

If you're in Hampshire, UK I'd be happy to try and help sort the problem,

Sorry,

Rik

Found this on the Dev' site - but I think you've already tried this:

# Amplifier & remote control pairing

Out of the box, the remote control is already paired to your Devialet. Should the link be lost, simply place the remote next to the display of the unit, or even on the Devialet itself, and press any key or turn the volume control knob. The pairing will automatically re-establish.

Also the same for 120 / 200

My guess would be pairing issue too, had a similar issue myself a year ago or so.

Pairing instructions from Thierry:
To pair the remote again with the amp, place it on the Devialet on the right side of the display and press any key or turn the volume knob. The pairing should happen automatically.

...sorry, I pasted only half

You can also force the remote to reset and create a new address by pressing the 4 keys at the same time for 2s. Then pair it again with your Devialet.

Thank you all so much for your replies. Unfortunately, none of them have worked and the remote is completely unresponsive.

Hello Axel - just a thought: have you tried removing the batteries from the remote and leaving it for a long time (e.g. overnight) before replacing them? I had a problem with the remote control on my previous amp, which apparently resisted all attempts to get it working until I did that. It surprised me as I'd already tried a quick battery swap to no avail, and had concluded that the thing was properly broken.
