Interesting about the D-premier bit. I thought it was meant to be completely refurbed to a pro (case colour aside)

So have you upgraded direct from a D-premier, or have you upgraded previously to a D240/250, and now to Pro?  Either way, keep us posted regarding any listening observations!

I upgraded D-premier --> 240/250 --> 250 Pro. Hoping to do some critical listening in the weekend. The new model comes with firmware 10.0.5 installed. I was on 8.1.3 and preferred that. I will check if the Pro is compatible with older firmware in the weekend, but i think i've read that it won't be. Amp is shipped with an Audioquest NRG X powercord. Won't be using it probably but it looks better than the standard cable they provided in previous models. They also changed my remote, since i have a matt white amp, the remote was also completely white. They now made the dial black, the rest of it remained white.

You need V10 firmware to invoke the new ADH.  From what I heard listening the D800 vs the 1000 Pro, the new ADH offers a significant hike in performance, more detail, more realism and accuracy.  I am 99.9% sure that if a 250 Pro can run 8.1.3, this will almost certainly make it sound worse.  Perhaps worth mentioning that I liked 8.1.3 too, but the Pro is a leap ahead.
That's weird I thought I read somewhere they also exchange the back connector plate for a copper one and thus also new model designation and serial number stickers. In my D-Premier -> 250 upgrade they also changed these stickers.

Did I misunderstand or are you saying first impressions are you preferred what you had and f/w 8.1.3? Or just that previously you'd preferred f/w 8 over f/w 10?

I meant the removable back cover, nog the connector plate, that is indeed copper now. Here's a picture of a black version in which you can see the text on the plate (Devialet and d-premier underneath it). Would have been nice if they did a new paint job on it and removed the text.

I preferred 8.1.3 over 10.X.X on Le 250, not on the Pro 250 (haven't listened to that one yet if it's possible at all). Can't give any first impressions on the 250 Pro yet. I just connected it, put some tracks on repeat and went to work.

Ah, I get it. So were the matte black/white ones the only one to have D-Premier written on the outside of the cover? Were they special editions?
