This is the eMail I sent to my HiFi Dealer, he is going to pass it on to the head of UK sales...

Just a wee update on the world of Devialet, this was in the eMail I received from them:

Within a few days, you will receive the casing and cardboard box so your Expert reaches our workshop safely. Your UPS label will be sent to you 24h/48h after receipt of the packagings
Please call UPS (phone number can be found on the UPS label) directly to schedule collection, between 2016-11-11 and 2016-11-17.

So far no boxes or UPS thing

Incredibly shoddy customer service, and from the forums it has always been like this, not sure why they haven't done anything about it yet, it's been ages!

What did Antoine say last Friday?

Regards

That's a different Antoine to the one that posts on here Smile

Thanks! It's been delivered back to me yesterday as planned! Smile

Unfortunately it didn't work, DOA (death on arrival)! Sad But I fixed it myself, all details here (off topic here): http://devialetchat.com/showthread.php?t...7#pid52937
I am in the US.

I passed one month since I ordered this week. . .I did get labels last week but no box. They have attempted TWICE to ship them from Paris but both times they get to the airport/customs IN FRANCE and are returned to Devialet for paperwork problems. This is for 1 empty box. They cannot figure out how to fill out the paperwork for an empty box. My concern is once they upgrade my D400 and try to send it back are they capable of figuring out the paperwork. Not being funny. . It is a serious concern.
I am in the US as well. I too had a D400. I decided rather than wait for an outer box (I assume you have all the other packaging, and that you bought the master and companion separately), that I would secure the two inner and outer boxes for each D200 together using brown wrapping paper and tape (lots of tape, took about an hour to get the two wrapped together securely). Then I used the shipping label provided and attached 3 copies of all the paperwork to the outside of the box using a UPS provided pouch. I did inform Devialet I was going to do this and got their blessing to do so.

So my recommendation is for you to consider using the brown paper wrap approach, rather than wait for the outer box to arrive, and therefor contact Devialet, and get approval for this approach. Just my two cents. BTW, I sent in my upgrade order on October 17th, but did not receive the labels until the 4th of November.

And you have my empathy, you have been very patient.

Have you received your unit back? If not, has Devialet received it?
It would surely be most cost effective, more environmentally friendly, and easier, for Devialet to bulk ship a load of boxes to each country the upgrade program is activate in, and get a local shipper to send them on to people's houses.

Doing customs forms for individual empty boxes that then go on UPS planes seems somehow ludicrous. Not least if they can't work out how to do it properly.

Unless people are missing the main foam packaging I don't see the point in waiting for an outer box. Just go and get the closest size box you can and resize it and use loads of strong packing tape. There was nothing special about the outer box mine came with. In fact my 200 had two outer boxes and was quite strong, the packaging the 250 came back in was single box and weaker.
Other than a one day delay with UPS in regards to the export documentation, it took 4 days to get from the Western US to Devialet, leaving on a Monday and delivery on a Thursday. I have not received the units back yet.

And to be clear, in terms of packaging, I was referencing the D400s which when bought at the same time,  have inner black box, outer brown box for each unit and then a "group packaging" brown box to put both units in. Since I bought mine separately I did not have the group packaging.

It is puzzling why they didn't keep an inventory of boxes in each country.
