Not sure how I missed this one!

It's in French but here is a summary:

- Opening of Devialet store in HK marks first step in the global roll out of 30 stores over the next 3 years, thanks to 100M euro investment
- In a market where sales of traditional hi-fi have collapsed Devialet holds the wild card: Phantom
- expect to sell 50k Phantoms this year (40k sold since 2014)
- Flagship stores opening in Seoul, Taipei and Singapore
- Asia fastest growing mkt
- Turnover 60M euros in 2016, 120M expected in 2017
- Devialet's growth is only limited by its ability to sell, hence focus on growing retail network
- Devialet will announce partnerships with automotive industry and TV manufacturers in 2017, seeking to branch out of audio industry
- Products-wise nothing major in 2017, in the following years: mass market offerings
- we want to "grab" the whole market and you can't do this with only a 2k euros product: Phantom is our "Mac", the next big thing will be our "iPhone"
- In common with Apple: marketing, design and high-end positioning

Guillaume
I do find this stuff both interesting and amusing. "Phantom is our Mac, the next big thing will be our iPhone", etc., all good stuff.

The thing is, when I talk to normal people (non audiophiles, sane people, and similar), not one of them has ever heard of Devialet.

I'm looking forward to my ADH powered car stereo though....
Expert and Expert Pro are Devialet 'IPOD'?
So presumably what's next will be smaller than a Phantom? Unless they're talking about predicted sales volume (e.g Mac vs iPhone kind of ratio) as opposed to physical size...

Yes they are implying a mass market offering like the iPhone which will project them into the stratosphere sales-wise. I think Sannié was saying that they aren't going to conquer the world with a 2k euros product, they need something cheaper and possibly ubiquitous?

So in the same way that the iPhone transformed the fortunes of Apple making it one of the most valuable traded companies in 2011 just 4 years after launch. They need a disruptive innovation, like the iPhone.

ADH in car stereos and TVs looks like a given though.

I think they might be in love. With Apple.

It's a shame really, especially since Apple - a brand I was once much fonder of - are becoming even more marketing, hype, and shareholder centric and are innovating less.

Why don't they just focus on growing a strong brand by being amazing at everything they do, rather than the obvious and slightly embarrassing/desperate quest to try and be 'Apple'
That does not bode well for us, Expert's owners.

I want full featured iOS remote app. Streaming from iOS app in background. 3-5 amplifier's configs stored inside Devialet, not on a card, that I can switch with a click of button on remote or in iOS app. I want volume level memorized for each input and surviving power off. And certainly very good streaming card with uPnP/DLNA and pluggable modules for Tidal/Spotify etc.
I think we can forget about that lot, except maybe the last thing. If it don't help the cause of global domination, it ain't gonna happen....
Are these people high on like mad crack...?

Since the release of the Phantom followed by the Pro series, I've been thinking that Devialet has probably done it's "big thing" in high-end audio, for good. But hey, maybe we soon can get an integrated camera for the remote control for some nice selfie pics, some colored plastic covers for the amps and a social media app courtesy of Devialet? Wouldn't that be something to look forward to?

Two years ago Devialet's workers informed in reviews that Their goal is mass market and that time for so called ,,audiohile" products ended. Phantom was first product aimed for luxury mass market. Now it is time for REAL tech gadgets market. Of course They offered in meantime Golden Expert plus Pro but this is still more or less facelifting of Experts.

Devialet used audiophile market to start, now They are using luxury gadget market for their targets.
