I believe a prototype was demonstrated at the Paris Hifi show a few weeks ago.

Something to look up in Munich in May!   Cool

Vincent has been experimenting with horn designs for ages, even long before he started developing his wonderful DACs. See here for e.g.:

They look cool.

Horns with attitude. I bet you could really crank the bass.

If only I had the space, and I'm guessing, a lot of funds!

(Yep, 38,000 Euro, plus 6k per subwoofer)

I know... crazy! I paid much less. They've gone up twice since I got mine. Good for resale I guess so I'm not complaining.

They are $30,900 in the US. Someone's making a nice markup.

The AE speaker reference TD18H+ with Apollo upgrade is a beast, I know some that was part of a group buy here in Sweden that bought pallets of woofers from AE speakers and that is some serious good sounding woofers....... Smile

Now Total DAC is just missing amps then you can go all-in on them.

Actually physics dictates that bass is the weakest part of a horn speaker. To get the full audible range in the bass the horn would have a mouth about 5m x 5m!
I read an article about a Japanese horn enthusiast who had a steeple built on his listening room for the bass horn and the mouth was the entire ceiling.
Normally only the most expensive horns actually have horn loaded bass, and conventional units like the bass driver used here tend to not go that low either if super efficient like this one.
In fact that is a B-I-G mid horn but it only goes down 150Hz, which is pretty good, my mid range horns are 600 mm diameter, look pretty big too and go down to 250Hz, but the bass of mine is horn loaded but only goes down to about 35Hz or so, though they are 109dB/watt.
I use a subwoofer for movies with mine or connect my conventional speakers which are full range in room.

Hence these subwoofers I guess:
