Took the plunge and purchased the Crystal Cable Crystalpower Standard AC cable. It's been breaking in for a couple of weeks but there is no comparison to the Shunyata cables I tried previously. There is such a dramatic improvement with a wider sense of depth, an added dimension of soundstage, firmer control on bass as well as the added musical details and nuances that are emanating from my speakers.

At the same time, I also added a pre-loved Siltech Classic Anniversary coaxial cable between the streamer and D120. I am certain this has also had a positive impact as the harshness or any sign of brightness has disappeared. I am hearing details I've never heard before - this is nice and helps me justify the cost of the upgrades !!

One downside is that I need to turn up the volume to -18db whereas before I was in the -21db range for the level I like listening to music at.

Overall, very happy with the synergy between the Devialet, Crystal Cable and Siltech. They really compliment and bring out the best of my Kudos speakers.

Call me a sceptic if you wish, but I find it hard to understand how changing cables means that you need to use a higher gain in the amplifier to listen at the same volume (unless something was wrong with the previous cables).  Given that you have increased the volume, that is quite likely to be the main reason why your system sounds better.

But that's fine, it's all subjective Smile
I have been turning up my volume as I improve my system (getting better cables, power filter, etc). I am interpreting this as the improvement is minimizing noise and I could hear more music. Other words, my listening threshold is the noise I am listening. My 2 cents only. Could be totally wrong.

Having been in this game 50 years I agree with warpeon's take. I too find any time I lower the noise floor and increase detail it has always been followed by a slight but corresponding increase in volume. Its not that I 'need' an increase in volume but rather that I 'want' to hear more deeply into the music and the newly discovered good stuff now available sans some of the accompanying aural clutter that existed before but didn't realize it was there... till it was gone! Almost identical volume-wise but so much more engaging and closer-to-the-source. At first blush it doesn't actually sound louder when cranked up a smidgen but rather the same as before although more enjoyable & revealing. This new slight volume bump setting then becomes the new 'normal listening level.' However, decades ago it was less apparent to us we were doing this and probably by virtue of smallish 1" diameter or so volume knobs compared to today's digital volume read-outs. I only realized this was happening after the advent of largish 2.5 - 3" diameter volume knobs then again a decade later with click-detent volume knobs... we could now 'count' the clicks over what went before! This was living large... finally something that was repeatable!
For what I read the TWL and the Finland one are the best sonically in an affordable amount of money and they fit the back panel.
I am about to buy 2 TWL.
ESPRIT made a specific one for Devialet too. 1900€ .. But seems great too.
I purchased a TWL Digital cable for my 200 only to find out that the stock version would not allow me to use the 200's rear panel. Sent it back for the specific "devialet" termination and once received was a little disappointed. It did allow me to use the rear panel but for the same price ( plus freight back to TWL and then back to me) the new end had nowhere the "bling" factor. It was a simple end versus the substantially better built, at least visually, stock IEC termination. In hindsight I should have left well enough alone and not used the rear panel which I cannot see anyways.

Just a short rant, sorry....
Peter says he uses a German made C13 IEC connector for the Devialet.
Do you mean that you heard a sonic difference with the previous connector ? or were you just disappointed about the look ?
I didn't even let the TWL cord burn in so I cannot advise as to what if any differences there are between the stock termination and the "devialet" version. If I can figure out how to imbed pictures you'll understand my perception of the "bling" factor. you are welcome to email directly and I will send you the pictures.
2 brand new TWL to be tested tonight

I've tried Audience power cables and one of the Audience power conditioners that worked well with my Macintosh amps, prior to stepping up to the Mono 400's. The Audience are a great improvement over the stock cords, no argument and right out of the box. The Audience power conditioner was not a good match with Mono 400's. Don't understand why but it seemed to be current limiting or acted as a choke on the music. The Audience power cords, however work just great and sound better than the stock power cords in my room. I'd like to give the Shunyata for Devialet power cords a try so that I could use the covers which will not fit with the Audience. Apparently Deviate is shipping Audioquest power cables with their new limited edition 900's. if that information is correct, I'm curious to know which Audioquest power cable that is.
