Info-update: so the recommendation in a home-cinema/surround setup is to have SAM on but with 0%.
As changing this every time when switching between sources is quite annoying they are checking with the engineers if the SAM setting (as it's currently with ICM) can also be remembered per source.

Excellent response. Does Devialet have an official FAQ blog? I thoroughly enjoy this site but we don't always disperse credible information. One thing gained from the response is that unless you are willing to perform heroic efforts such as our fellow forum member @Manoet (kudos to him), don't sweat the temps.
