Interesting.. I also have a Sonos Connect with Tidal (via coax), just tried this and it does seem a bit less (although the SQ is generally lower than with AIR). Just tried AIR again and for my ears there is some sibilance (noticeable especially just over 3 mins in on Tidal version)..

I fall for the power cord thing every time. For some reason I was assuming you'd already done that, but I tend to power cycle it again after it's finished installing the update and rebooted too just to be sure.

I found that if you hold the power button for a few seconds the display will show "RESET" and then you can let go and it will install the firmware.

Code:
$ diff -rql 7.1.1 SW\ 7.1.3\ CLIENT
Only in 7.1.1: dspm0705.hex
Only in SW 7.1.3 CLIENT: dspm0706.hex
Files 7.1.1/force_fw.txt and SW 7.1.3 CLIENT/force_fw.txt differ
Files 7.1.1/fw_list.txt and SW 7.1.3 CLIENT/fw_list.txt differ
Files 7.1.1/ihm_0700.hex and SW 7.1.3 CLIENT/ihm_0700.hex differ

$ sum -r 7.1.1/dspm0705.hex  SW\ 7.1.3\ CLIENT/dspm0706.hex
31182   123 7.1.1/dspm0705.hex
45577   124 SW 7.1.3 CLIENT/dspm0706.hex

So dspm070{5|6} has the version number suffix changed and contents, ihm_0700.hex is different.  The txt files just installation version-specific files.

Any idea what ihm could stand for? Again, if they change he contents of a file they really ought to change its name.

Interface Homme Machine? I believe Antoine was speculating that this might be a Spark compatibility update?

This was my first time updating the firmware so it was kind of trial and erorr.

I used to have the Odin speaker cable as well... A very good match. Odin Power Cable makes wonders on Devialet too..

Welcome to the forum.

RE: New beta firmware 7.1.3 released - munkee - 01-May-2015

Has anyone else experienced problems with noise? I am using the latest production version of AIR for OS X with iTunes. I have the 7.1.3 beta firmware on a Devialet 250 (formerly a 240). The MacBook is connected via wifi and the 250 via Ethernet. After a very enjoyable 15 minutes, I experienced white noise mixed with music. Changing tracks or pausing/restarting tracks does not help. I have never experienced this problem with 7.1.1 and rolling back seems to fix things.
