And what about sound?
For me the sound is not so dynamic as with 7.1.3. beta.
Now with 8.0 I need to listen with -20dB jazz music with 7.1.3 it was ok with -25 or even -30dB.
Sound with 8.0 seems smoother. No any edgy high tones.
As someone said now sound seems more linear.
I have SAM on but only 20%.
Where do you select the % for SAM?

Upgrade to 8.0 went smoothly. My D 200 with KEF 207-2s is now in the world of SAM. Overall things sound better. Seems like the response is more uniform across the frequency spectrum. Power dynamics are better.

Agree that balance of sound is now better.
But I notice really important change with bass. With previous firmware I had SAM only at 20% because more than 50% it was just too much for my ears and my room;-)
Now with 8.0 i am listening great demo disc THE DALI CD vol.2 and my SAM is 100%! And is sounding great.
With 8.0 high are smoother than with 7.1.3. All frequency is just the most linear since I bought my Devialet.
Also agree that with 7.1.3 and 8.0 Devialet made a right step toward better and better quality mids...

Where do you select the % for SAM?
You need to push TONE button four times then (when SAM is ON) You see SAM circle on display and rotate the remote wheel...

IMO they are firmer. There is no boom-box effect with 100% SAM ON as before.
you are right, the boom has disappeared. I need to redo my room compensation, it is now reducing the bass too much. My bass membranes are now moving only slightly more while with the old SAM there was a difference like night and day, 2mm to 2cm with SAM set to 100%.
But on some recordings I miss that somehow...

I'm loving the bass. It was too overpowering with SAM 1 and a little crude. This is way better. I realised I wasn't noticing the bass boom and got worried something wasn't quite right. I just played some bass-heavy tracks and the bass I'm getting from my little speakers is just something else. The clarity is way better, but also it seems to be able to even lower.
I'm absolutely loving this firmware! It's transformed my Devialet. It just seems to keep getting better and better.

I don't have SAM ready loudspeakers. But, it seems like there's a lot more bass. This is partly due to the fact that I can play the 120 quite a bit louder while sounding good, but there also just seems to be more bass extension/slam.
