optical to dialog or phantom - andreas - 27-Sep-2015
Hi,
I want to use optical to phantom but can only get it to work when I use the optical in dialog... I've tried my three phantoms and none of them take the signal. I've tried all options in spark to get it up and running but no luck... Anyone has had this experience?

Have you switched the inputs on in the device settings for the Phantoms in Spark? I think my Dialog accepted the optical in without any intervention from me, but I had to search around in the settings in Spark for one of my Phantoms to accept an input over an optical cable.

yes I did... auto detect and just plain "on" but nothing would do it...

You also need to have the source providing a live signal for Spark to accept the input...

a live signal? I play perfectly from a dj mixer thru a ad-converter to dialog, but not to phantom...

The Phantoms don't accept all optical cables. Some of them don't fit or don't fit properly. Maybe you should try different ones.
wouldn't the cable that works for dialog also work in phantom? perhaps the lesser quality of the dialog makes it take crappy cables but not the phantom
