Rca to optical toslink - qwerty_88 - 27-Oct-2015

Is there an equipment that converts rca to toslink so I can plug an rca to the phantom's optical?

RE: Rca to optical toslink - EvPa - 27-Oct-2015

You are looking for an ADC (analogue to digital converter), which basically does the reverse of a DAC.

There are many manufacturers at different price points, here is an example:

Or do you mean coax digital output to optical? RCA just refers to the coax plug type used for both analog and digital.

I use an ADC called CYP AU-D4T. Very small and handy.

How is sound quality compared to using wireless?

Is this http://www.amazon.com/SANOXY%C2%AE-Analog-Digital-Converter-Adapter/dp/B005F20756/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1446015313&sr=8-1&keywords=sanoxy+adc similar to the CYP AU-D4T?

I have not compared it to wireless. I also use direct toslink since I also have an USB->Toslink converter. I can't tell the difference, but then I'm not an audiophile. I just want it "to work". The CYP piece is of excellent build quality, and judging from the pictures, has about the same I/O as the one you point out. CYP is a professional equipment manufacturer as far as I can tell (many products for professional A/V installations), and not geared towards the consumer segment. I paid maybe €80-100 for it.

What USB -> toslink do you use? I also have an Aurender X100 music server that has usb output. Wanted to try this with the phantoms as well.

I use iFi Micro iLink. See the picture.

RE: Rca to optical toslink - Newton95 - 24-Feb-2016

Hi all, i'm looking for an ADC 24 bits/96 kHz in LPCM 2 Channel (find it on Thomas.de) without compression and i'm in communication with Devialet support in order to identifie the good protocol for an ADC (informations from devialet support are not realy helpfulll !) In few Hours, i Will receive the lindy ADC 16 bits/44,1khz for my first test but my aim is to plug an turntable with an good phono stage And a good ADC witch is realy difficult to find.ADC are use in studio.

For information, devialet support confirm that USB on dialog is not use at this Time And only for plug a hard drive in future release.
