Phantom Extended Warranty - Info FYI - MountainGuy - 14-Mar-2016 For what it's worth, Devialet has introduced a 3 year warranty extension that runs concurrently with the original 2 years, but offers more coverage including accidental damage. A clarification note: it runs CONCURRENTLY with the original 2 years warranty so that the warranty lasts 3 years from date of purchase, and NOT EXTENDING three years beyond the original 2 years. Download legal conditions.. Download legal conditions. Here is the clarification to my direct inquiry: 1. Does this mean 3 addition on top of the original 2 so it is 5 years warranty? No. This means a total of 3 years of warranty, but it is indeed an « additional 3 years » of hardware/commercial warranty, as the first type of warranty was legal. It overlaps the legal warranty so that you still have the legal two years with the additional 3 years of commercial warranty on top (working on different cases, as explained below). 2. And is the warranty transferable as the original 2 years is? Yes, you can transfer it once, as explained in page 3 of the terms and conditions, available for download on our website and attached to this email. 3. If need replacement, there's an additional fee of $239. Yes, but only if the replacement is caused by an accidental damage, when the user is at fault. If it was caused by a product malfunction, and provided the legal warranty is still in effect (for 2 years, hence the distinction between the two different types) the product will be changed following the same protocol that was previously used by our Customer Care department. 4. Does it mean that Phantom will ALWAYS be replaced and not repairable? Or is that replacement only for accidental damage when the user is at fault? What if the Phantom breaks internally not due to the owner's accident - is that still replaced and charged or repaired? No. As explained in the previous answer, this only applies when the user is at fault. If the Phantom breaks internally, the product will be replaced as before. 5. Is that warranty PER Phantom, or PER system? Meaning if a person has stereo pair, does he/she need to purchase TWO warranties at $598? It is per Phantom. 6. Give you just started the warranty, well past most owner's original purchase, would Devialet consider giving earlier owner opportunity to purchase also or is it only for new owners? Unfortunately, this product is only for new owners. To be more precise, one can buy and activate Devialet Care 30 days after a Phantom purchase. |
