Prince RIP - Confused - 21-Apr-2016

Is it me or is 2016 proving to be an exceptionally bad year for some of the great names in the world of music?  In fact, it seamed to start with Lemmy back on December 28th.

Unbelievable news seems to keep on coming.

RE: Prince RIP - Rufus McDufus - 21-Apr-2016

He was a fantastic musician. I didn't really follow him from about 1990 onwards where he seemed to consciously take a turn away from being a megastar. I still play some of the 80s albums though and particularly like 'Parade' which isn't particularly considered one of his best. 'Sign 'O The Times' is a masterpiece too, and 'Lovesexy' gets quite a few plays.
I'm really shocked by this.

I'm still gobsmacked by names and frequency with which we have been losing sacred cows from December onwards. I'm particularly touched by Bowie's, Emerson's and now Prince's deaths... All of them too young, also. Very, very sad.

I also like Prince's songs from the 80s more than those he composed later in time. Raspberry Beret, Pink Cashmere (a special high point IMHO), Sign O' the Times...

Party on like it's 1999...

Yes, I'm sad that one more of my favorite artists left. I watched his Purple Rain movie at least 5 times. Love his music and listening to his latest album now. RIP Prince.

Yes, such a shame - a great guitarist, inter alia.
