That four letter word printed over that snowy mountain on this sign up page pretty much sums up how much interest I have in it right now.

What if that's the cost of the upgrade?  Tongue

They wouldn't need a sign up page in that case. Wink

Maybe I'm just a bit cynical, but it seems a bit lame to announce that there will be an upgrade program for the Expert and an opportunity to sign up for it now, with absolutely no information at all about what the upgrade will entail.   I suppose I should just assume that whatever it is I will want it so I better sign up now.    Huh

It's called 'selling with confidence' (Or arrogance. Whichever way you look at it)

Let's guess what it won't have that many may want:

- MQA support
- Roon support
- Airplay support
- high bitrate native DSD support
- useful mature/proven digital room correction
- stable high performance network streaming (based on e.g. Dante or Ravenna)
- properly isolated, clocked and powered USB and ethernet digital inputs
- 5GHz N or AC WiFi with better antenna's
- I2S over HDMI/ethernet input(s)
- wordclock in- and output

We'll likely get uPnP, a Spark lock-in, again some useless power increase and some OdA trickled down minor ADH and PSU optimizations.

We may get poorly functioning room correction, higher bit rate DSD support but with internal PCM conversion.

God forbid we're getting ethernet over powerline support and the Dialog.

Edit: let's hope that this time they'll mount Toslink tranceivers support 192kHz again like in the D-premier. People upgrading their D-premiers lost that feature since Devialet decided to mount cheaper ones supporting up to 96KHz only in the new 110/170/240's (without telling customers BTW)

Let's hope I'm wrong on many counts! Wink

Yep that or they once again failed to meet a deadline and weren't ready yet to make the real announcement so decided to re-/pre-announce the announcement.

How did Pleyel find that page BTW?

The sound is great. If they make it sound better and not too expensive, I am in. Everything else is, IMHO, superfluous.

RE: New product launch? - Eddye - 12-Jun-2016

I filled it out, since it's non-binding. We'll see. I have no real expectations tbh.

Totally agree, exept some kind of Room correction, like equalizer or Dirac, that really could improve user experience.
