RE: New product launch? - IanG-UK - 27-Jul-2016 (27-Jul-2016, 14:07)SwissBear Wrote: Hi Ian, Hi Pierre My OdA conclusions were intended to be purely financial ones and I pretty much agree with Guillaume as to the related impacts. I'd not appreciated the existence of the 60%/80% program which is clearly worth thinking about for those who want the 220, the 440 or the 1000, which I guess is most of the market! New product launch? - Elztalbiker - 27-Jul-2016 @SwissBear - thanks a lot. Another real truth side. Sent by iPad RE: New product launch? - Damon - 27-Jul-2016 With 84 pages of posts, I don't know if I have the stamina to go back through them all, so I'll ask a question that may already have been answered; do we know, or have any hint, if the new streamer board can be installed into a non-upgraded Expert amp? Of course we don't know what the function or performance of the new streamer hardware will be, but I'd love to ditch my Sonos boxes. It occurred to me that if I were shopping today, I doubt I would buy the D220 Pro, but would almost certainly chose the new D130 Pro. I didn't buy a D200 18 months ago and that sort of reminds me that i don't really need one now. Logically then, I'm not really an update candidate. Thanks for any info that I've missed. Very, very likely - not to say 100% for sure - it won't be able to install into a non-upgraded Expert. Maybe a bad choice, but my choice, so given that Devialet is now taking us to the 1000P level for free, we have little to grumble about. are you considering replacing Devialet with different brand ? any candidate ? RE: New product launch? - maxijazz - 27-Jul-2016 (26-Jul-2016, 23:40)IanG-UK Wrote: [...] I do not agree those are modest. Those plus difference in output power was valued £1500 by Devialet. In my book that is opposite of modest. I don't know internals of Devialets and i don't know what it really takes to upgrade. I guess the parts taken out of D200 (especially phono/preout boards) have some value, so why not to discount D200 owners by part of the £1500? PS. I don't know, what is difference between ADH of D120 and D200, but based on what i heard on this fine forum, it is possible that they are the same (also same value) only D120 is software crippled. Would it mean that phono/preout value is most of the £1500? PS2. Otherwise I agree with what you said. No idea what sort of money changes hands from 800>OdA but I can imagine more than £5500. Question is, had you known, could (or would) you have held off for a new model in the future knowing the OdA was available right there and then? Especially since the new model wouldn't have had the exclusive colour, name, and signed plate. Whatever the answer it's a sad day for Devialet that you're even slightly bemused about it Guillaume. I could taste the excitement in your posts as you put the for sale ad up for the 800 before the OdA was even available... A real leap of faith. RE: New product launch? - Pim - 28-Jul-2016 Here's a question I haven't thought of before; does the upgrade come with another 5 year warranty? If I'm right, that's what happened with the D-Premier, didn't it?
