Usb input or SPDIF input - kobo123 - 17-Aug-2016

Hi all,

I am running D400 and Aurender N100. I would like ask here for any experience on choosing the input from a streamer to D400. Would a Aurender USB output thru Weiss int204 and to D400 SPDIF give a better sound ?

From a satisfied Devialet user.

I prefer the SPDIF over the USB. I also remember reading somewhere that SPDIF is a superior connection as compared to usb. This is mainly due to the fact that SPDIF/Coax does not have the same jitter issues as usb.

I can't comment on the Weiss, but I can't help thinking a Mutec might be just what you need.

I have connected my Aurender X100L to my D400 via a Musical Fidelity V-Link (a fairly cheap device and not a reclocker) USB to SPDIF converter and believe I have achieved an improvement in SQ! This has encouraged me to order one of the Mutec devices which have been praised by other users on this forum.

Really appreciate all your responses.

With all the positive experience,  I think I will go take a look at MUTEC + USB. I am connecting Aurender to D400 via Entreq Atlantis USB, but sounds rather digital and hence consider any improvement.

With USB I would always highly recommend Intonia http://intona.eu/en/products

Hi there! USB shielding; you are absolutely right and thus complementing:

Start with
1. Shielded dedicated powerlines (costly, building the powerlines in your house again?)
2. Power conditioning (building up new power again, not only filtering) (expensive)
3. Cable TV isolator (very cheep € 25 - same as USB Intonia but then on TV/ Radio/ internet as well)
4. Shielded loudspeaker cables (NO AudioQuest Diamond prices!)

This company delivers solutions all over the world: kempelektronics.nl.
I own almost everything from them (> € 20.000!;, it's always good with a superb price/ performance ratio. My message is: start at the front of the set-up; that's the most efficiënt way. What's not there, you don't have to filter away.....

I forgot:

5. AudioQuest Jitterbugs (6x). Most important one for me: into the internet router! Try it. Logical and simple. The source.
