Turnover is doubling every year. Already at 60M euros in 2016 Devialet is quite a bit bigger than most (if not all?) other hi-fi companies. People are obviously buying the Phantoms in droves. Well that puts a lot of context on the finances! RE: We want to "grab" the whole market - Hifi_swlon - 22-Feb-2017 For more perspective - Apple, Q1 2017: -Revenue of $78.351bn -Net income (profit) of $17.891bn Well, won't be long before Devialet reach Apple's figures...... Wow I never realised they were quite so big. Guillaume RE: We want to "grab" the whole market - Hifi_swlon - 22-Feb-2017 Nor did I, that's huge. Let's just hope if Devialet get there, they won't have similar products and reputation at that point. My fear - not just for Devialet but for any growing company with shareholders and venture capital - is that rich people are generally only interested in money, whereas founders of companies generally have real passion for products. The money people almost always win. RE: We want to "grab" the whole market - IanG-UK - 22-Feb-2017 Interesting to see these numbers appear in one place and, were it pertinent, one could do more work to look at volumes and margins and costs - which probably differ significantly across this industry as have exchange rates pre and post Brexit. But working on the basis that Apple's PBT of around 20% of sales is indicative of the industry generally regardless of size, maturity or subsector one arrives at these annual indicative PBT figures in $m: Apple 70,000 Bose 700 B&W 30 Devialet 15 Linn 5 RE: We want to "grab" the whole market - deviousalet - 25-Feb-2017 On the upside, if Devialet grows as big as Apple while remaining as undisciplined as they are now just imagine all the information which will leak out to the rumor sites. Maybe that's the "improved communication" they promised. |
