RE: Entreq grounding boxes - GTX - 19-Sep-2014

Has anyone connected the silver tellus directly to a turntable? Or is it enough to connect the turntable ground to the Devialet if the latter is connected to the tellus? Thanks

Normally you would connect the ground box to the phono stage (via Entreq ground cable), which obviously in this case is the Devialet.

Having tried the whole range (bar Atlantis) I would strongly recommend the Apollo eartha cable (RCA to Spade). It's leaps better than all the others.

I've seen specs for the dimensions, but not the weight of the Entreq grounding boxes.

Does anyone know the weight of the Tellus?

The Silver Tellus is approx 25kg

For those that are interested I'm currently trialing a couple of Atlantis ground cables connecting both my 250s to a Silver Telus box. Very impressed so far, this is a major upgrade over the Apollos which were already excellent.

The sound just seems to be better in every way. It's more fluid and delicate and I'm hearing more micro details. I'm sure they were already there but there is a quietness in the presentation that makes it easier to discern everything. The speakers are disappearing and the soundstage has deepened.

Still very early days as I only unboxed them yesterday afternoon. I expect some significant improvements to come over the next week or so and will report back accordingly.

So at £1650 it's not worth its weight in silver (£7,950) so I guess it's full of a rather less expensive mineral Tongue

Almost 20 years ago we did a few experiments to see if we could evaluate why LPs sounded so good despite having poor noise and distortion performance.
Back then producing a good transfer function of the distortion products to add was more than processors could cope with but we did some experiments with added noise, general and music related and crosstalk.
The added noise, particularly if music related, subjectively gave more air and a bigger sound stage. I wonder if these Entreq boxes add a bit of music related noise to the system?
They are certainly not grounded, and a box with who knows what inside will almost certainly be an aerial to any pickup from adjacent speaker wires, interconnects and power supplies.
This is the only explanation which I can think of which matches the "evidence" such as it is.

It's certainly an interesting and very plausible theory. The positive effects of the Entreq grounding boxes are fairly widely reported even by some acknowledged sceptics. If only someone would open Pandora's box, I mean an Entreq box, then we might have a better idea of what's really going on.

Sweden only has only has three species of snakes. It must be very hard to harvest enough oil to fill these boxes.;-)
