It appears that the contenders are basically the Voima and Triode Wire Labs (although there's 7, 10 and 12 gauge, all priced very differently. Not to mention the variety in plugs). No idea, sorry! If I were you I would try and test as many as you can. There are literally hundreds of options out there. Shunyata, Isotek, Chord, Naim... etc etc. I own a few Chord mains cables including the "Power Chord" but couldn't tell you if they are better than the others as I have never compared them to other comparably priced products. I think I paid £175 for it. I'm sure others will be very interested to hear what you decide on so please keep us posted. Guillaume RE: Power Cables - Rufus McDufus - 16-Mar-2015 Heard good things about all Shunyata power cables at different price ranges. RE: Power Cables - samurai7595 - 16-Mar-2015 I'm using the Crystal Cable Micro power cable with my Devialet 200. It's thin, very flexible and extremely well built! This cable came highly recommended by the Canadian Devialet distributor. RE: Power Cables - Womaz - 16-Mar-2015 Wow you guys have some serious cash for your hobby Is there a cheaper say up to £100 power cable that will give improvements? Or at that level of expenditure will the one supplied do the job. RE: Power Cables - Morten - 16-Mar-2015 Good evening Womaz That is one way to look at it, another is to look at the % of cost that compared to the rest of the gear, my power cable is less than 10% of the Devialet, compared to the improvement in sound quality I find it worth the cost. When I plugged it in my first thought, why do they not include a decent power cord in the box, for 7000€ it is a good amplifier, for 7600€ with a good power cord it is brilliant. Kind regards Morten RE: Power Cables - Womaz - 16-Mar-2015 (16-Mar-2015, 20:47)Morten Wrote: Good evening Womaz You make a valid point and if it sounds better to you then its a cost effective upgrade. So difficult to do this. I will google it and see if it is available in the UK. RE: Power Cables - Morten - 17-Mar-2015 Hi Womaz I know that one needs to take care, but do you mean Scotland? I believe that at least Graditech have a good return policy, if you do like the cable you send it back for a full refund (also shows that they are pretty confident in their product) Kind regards Morten RE: Power Cables - Womaz - 17-Mar-2015 (17-Mar-2015, 13:59)Morten Wrote: Hi Womaz No I mean North east of England Newcastle upon Tyne to be precise. |
