Hi everyone!
I'm new to Devialet club and I hope I'm going to stay longer than used to do with my previous systems
Few weeks ago everyhing came in totally new to my home: speakers and Devialet so while burning in equipment, I'm trying to hear how much my new setup (Vivid B1d / D400) sounds different in comparison to the ex one (Avalon Indra / Plinius SA-103 & Kaitaki / Resolution Audio Cantata). Of all elements in audio chain only power conditioner and room are the same...
So until now, I would say that the sound is VERY different! It's airy, more resolute, very very "silent", with first class dynamics and superb bass which I so much adored on Plinius SA-103 A-class power amp
More about SQ I will tell when everything settles down and I find more time for discerning listening.
Right now, there are problems with boomy bass due to backside woofer on my Vivids, I hope it would settle down a bit with use of some spike pads which would make bass more firm and less resonant in my living room. I also used tone controls by deacreasing bass output by 5dB and now is acceptable but not perfect. I'm hoping Dev room correction will be available soon.
