My new Ansuz Mainz POM dont do that so I run without the cover on my D400 now, Ansuz was willing to change on the POM to a Furutech but I decided to loose the cover.

But the D's rear cover helps dissipate the heat generated from the amp - the reason Dev claims to be the main difference between D200/D250 and D400/D800......

That may be one thing but my temperature on the amps is exactly the same with the covers as they are now without them.
Many runs them without the covers so this cant be a big deal I think. But I have the possibility to run with Furutech if I decide to change, runing without the covers is not written in stone.

The cover doesn't touch anything that's hot and doesn't have much contact with anything that does, so I don't see how it would act as a heatsink.

I hv not seen a slimline iec of Petit corona but I think I will settle down with a PC with an oyaide iec which is claimingly better than slimline iec but i need to take rear cover out and live with it. I am buying two of them with the plan of upgrading mine 200 to dual mono. Some users reported earlier it is more logical to use Dev without back cover anyway.

I have tried some slim iec the ones that are split in half when you connect the cable and most of them dont fit well so I got a Furuteh  FI-15e and that connector fits really well, the front of the plugg is not split when you connect the cable inside.

But now when I changed to Ansuz cables I decided to dont use the cover anymore, dont want to fiddle around with the connectors anymore.

Robert S. Youman liked the Synergistic Research Atmosphere Devialet-Spec. power cable in his review of the D800 in Positive Feedback: http://positive-feedback.com/reviews/har...-research/ so there's another data point.

Agree but his language was editorial copy, descriptive and attentive to the paymaster.. At three thousand USD a pair, some excitment and confounded joy is in order.
BTW, Nordost also supplies a narrow plug as a special order.
Best,

Any feedback would be welcome. Thanks!

I tried the Piccolo and didn't hear any difference. Then tried Nordost Fry 2 and Valhalla with QB8. Whaaoo and whaaaoooo. Big difference. Wide scene and everything more fluent with more " énergy". But price are full of energy too.
