September 1st. Every year I pull out this album. 'Secrets of the Beehive' by David Sylvian, ex of Japan (one of my long term favourites - fretless bass that drops jaws still to this day). The first song on 'Secrets' is 'September'. Just my slightly melancholy way of marking the end of the summer.
But for the rest of you, this is a great album. Sonically and musically beautiful, calm, atmospheric and melodic, with a wonderful blend of close-miked vocals, acoustic and electronic instruments. A great deal of space in the music, giving percussion and piano and cymbals time to hang in the air- glorious decay!
Ahem.
Vinyl and Deezer Elite.
