New Speakers

Yes I do fear that this will be the case too, but only one way to find out. I also think a lot of speakers will need a lot of space too, thats why i could end up trying the PMC26s or even sticking with what I have.

I did look at your ProAcs and they get very good reviews but they would not suit the furniture in my room. Thanks for posts though

Another thought. Horn speakers can be good up against the wall, mine actually benefit from corner positions but are perhaps not a fit for your room...
OTOH Tune Audio do make smaller models which I have heard and like and may well suit your room from a SQ pov, but may not suit your taste from a styling pov.

These are made to order in loads of different veneers or paint finishes though some finishes are quite a hike in price.

There is a SH pair for sale here

I really like the look of your horn speakers and didn't think I would but they just would not match my living room.
The others are interesting but think it will be nigh on impossible to get a home demo of these.

Thanks for the post

No idea but one thing's for sure, ProAc has done an amazing job with integrating the ribbon tweeter with the mid/bass driver.

Not an easy task from what I've read online & been told by distributors.

I'm very happy with my Grimm LS1s, and I don't have the room for large horn speakers, but those are incredible. I'm a bit more drawn to the Avantgarde mid-century modern horn aesthetic, but your speakers look like they sound amazing (a weird statement, I know!), and they look like every choice was made for sonic reasons. That has a special beauty.

Hi Samurai, have you had an opportunity of comparing them with other ribbon L/S's like Raidho or Scansonic?

It may be worth asking Jack at BD-Audio who imports them. I believe ha e has a demo pair.

Myself no but a good friend of mine who owns the ProAc Response D40R (now replaced by the D48R) did and said that he found the ProAc version to be very natural, not bright sounding, non-fatiguing with excellent integration.
