That's in my todo list, as an option that can be toggle on/off. Activating it would require the app to stay open as it would indeed act as a proxy, and I like also the comfort of being able to start a stream and close my laptop, that's why I would like to keep both possibilities.
Should be pretty easy to implement. Stay tune
