iOS / Android remote control App losing contact
#1
Question
Hi - anyone had trouble with the iOS and/or Android remote control App losing contact with their Devialet Expert after waking the amp from standby?

Seems to be fixed by hard power off of (in my case) the D200, kill the App then power on the amp and restart App.

Normally my D200 goes into automatic standby after about 20 minutes of no input (as opposed to me putting it into standby).

Then when I wake it up the App spins around in its <searching> mode then gives the <can't find device - make sure it's on the same network etc. etc.> message when I prod it.

I'm on a D200 with Hardware 5.0.0, Firmware 9.0.2 and get the same problem with iOS (currently 9.3.1) and Android (currently 6.0.1) Apps but had the same problem with earlier versions of iOS / Android.  My 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network is stable and all other devices / Apps work OK (e.g. iPeng, Squeezebox Commander, etc.) without dropping out.

Ideas?

I've had the same problem intermittantly. I found that it had to do with my wifi strength. As you cycle through your inputs ( I assume you have a few configured ) look for the wifi strength icon when you get to the wifi input. If the signal strength is adequate the icon, the typical fan shaped appearance, should be white. If it is yellow or does not appear try power cycling your modem and router. That fixed my problem although I still have to do that occasionally.

This is not my issue as my wifi strength is at -25dBm.

Sure that's not the (possibly default) volume level on that input?

Either way - WiFi signal strength is not a problem for me either.  Certainly rebooting the router helps but shouldn't have to since everything else (Squeezeboxen, tablets, etc.) carry on just fine after waking up (bit like me really  Rolleyes ).

I wasn't clear in my comments. It wasn't the wifi strength per se but the strength of the signal picked up by the Devialet. That's why I was confused. I had no problems with other devices on my network. It wasn't until I contacted support that they asked me to check the icon colors as I mentioned. I reset my modem and router and the icon turned white and the signal strength indicator looked more normal. This of course was for my setup.

Well either way my WiFi icon on the Dev is always white so that's not the problem . . .
