Windows AIR 3 Technical issues
#1
The old AIR 3 beta for Windows ETA thread, and the very new Windows AIR 3 sound quality observations thread are both filling up with endless technical issues, which is to be expected perhaps.

So here is a nice new thread just for those technical issues!  A place for everything, and everything in it's place....... Shy

Well, there was one.  Then there was a second one just for sound quality observations but this filled up just with technical issues whilst the original thread was still active.  So why not!  Just trying to be organised and keep things on topic.

Why not remove the ETA from the topic title and keep both the windows (and mac) air beta topics?

If the admins want to rationalise things that would make sense and would be fine with me!  I was just trying to keep things on topic!

Yeah I see what you mean. I wasn't too happy to see the SQ topic turn into a technical DSD topic either...
You can tag me OCD!   Blush

Would hate to see all the info that's in the ETA topic now gone to waste though.

Just remove the ETA from the other topic and delete this one I would say.
That would tidy things up. Confused seemed fine with that too.
Wether it makes sense to move both the mac and win beta topics to the streaming section is up to you.
I might just confuse (?!) people when the topics are moved though.

Thanks, Guillaume!

I think seperate threads for SQ, support issues and general comms whinging make sense, it might be best to rename this one to Air 3 BETA, as hopefully any problems will be gone in the final release, and new threads started then as required.

Anyway, this is what I have just posted to their support site.

Quote:Not really a problem as such but if I bring up the recording devices dialog whilst playing music I immediately get white noise.

This is on Windows 10 Pro, using foobar in wasapi event mode.

Others have confirmed it's the same for them.

If I disable the Devialet Air Microphone device in the recording devices tab then the problem goes away.  I didn't think AIR could work to record anyway.

This might be useful to you for diagnostic work, it's not a problem for me.

Does everyone else find it changes the default audio device when air first connects? It's quite annoying. It only seems to do it the first time the app starts, and connects.
