HQPlayer and CDs
#1
Hello everybody,

Just checking with our collective souls and minds and seeing if I can find a solution to a simple problem.

I'm using HQPlayer with my MBP. Wonderful software, really made a difference in SQ. Mind you, I use Roon as a player: HQP is far away from anything usable in that sense, and even farther away from Roon... Now, HQP for Mac doesn't allow CDs to be played through it. The Windoze version does, but not the Mac. Its creator says that's because no Macs come with a CD player anymore... He seems to forget that older machines did and the still work perfectly well. In any case, does anyone know of an alternative way to actually ripping the disc to play CDs through HQP?

Any ideas will be very welcome. Thanks, cheers!

If you intend to rip, I would suggest to look into XLD, which is a free ripping software for Mac. I have been using it for years.

Thanks, Dieter, what I'm trying to do is precisely avoid ripping my CDs... Haven't tried XLD, I use dBpoweramp and I'm pretty happy with it. Will check it out anyway, thanks for the pointer!

Cheers!
