My D 220 has only 24 hours of break-in time but already it has passed my 200 in SQ. When Devialet first announced the general specs for the Expert Pro series, it was their claim of improved transient response that mostly grabbed my attention. Transient performance was a limitation in the 200 that began to be more and more an issue. The 220 is a major improvement in this important SQ factor in my opinion. There are other factors such as improved timbres, better bass response, and smooth power handling. I'm noticing a striking lack of power sags on certain recordings that I know well. I've played some vinyl too. It enjoys all the benefits mentioned as well as a quieter phono stage.
