A special dictionary? Why not?
#1
To all deviowners;

Considering the crescente amount of Devialet owners, why don´t we make (if it´s not already done somewhere around...) a post with all the technical terms, acronyms, abbreviations and all that stuff very familiar to those who deals with it for a long time but meaningless for the newcomers (my case, sometimes) and some people without that kind of curiosity?
Terms like MQA, lossless, CPU, bitstream, ICM, buffer, DPM and thousands more, you name it.
I´m sure it´ll be very usefull and just here in this forum we have people with the knowledge to translate and explain all.
Some kind of technical dictionary Devialet or Audio oriented.
Just a suggestion.
Cheers.

Probably because it's a lot of work, it needs maintenance and wiki's are more more suited for this (sharing information in a structured way, allowing collaboration) than a forum which is more suited for discussion.

Thanks,
I know how to get the most of the information i need.
The practical and simple "all in one place" was the intention above, but i accept that point of view.

I understand, it's just my view on the matter. And it should of course stop no one from creating a glossary of the sorts you're proposing. Smile

Can we add 'crescente' to this list? ...yes I had to google it's meaning LOL Smile

I share Antoine's view, this list would potentially be infinite.
It's just simply easier to click 'search google' than to find the list and then the term on that list.

After all, like i told before, i agree with this option, but not with your sence of humour.

I was simply offering my opinion as requested by your op
and my joke was aimed at my lack of knowledge not yours, so there was really no need for you to take offence
