Gold vs Silver vs White...
#51
Many thanks JM,

Do you have any simple document that could provide me an easy understanding about what surface reflects what ?
The Devialet video about how to install properly my Phantoms doesn't say a thing about how close to the wall should they be by exemple !
I know they have to be orientated front and slightly looking to each other. They have to be separated by about 2 meters…

What do you think is the best way possible to let them live ?

PS : how can I attach a picture directly inside my post ?

the key is that since those are truly full range speakers, avoiding to have them too close to walls is key to avoid bass reinforcement that they don't need.

So I would say that if you can putt them 50 to 80cm from the closest wall, that would be excellent.

Concerning the surfaces, if your reactor is sitting not too far from the edge, you are probably good.

Once again, my main advice is to experiment. This is the nice things with reactors, they are light and easy to move. Not the same story when your speakers are weighting 10s of kg.... Some even 100s or kg.

PS: for the images, I know it is possible since others have done it, but I have never posted images myself, so I am not the best one to give practical advice.

OK mate.

As I won't get the two the same day I'll be able to experience mono vs. stereo ! I can't be waiting much more than I'm waiting right now.
I feel that something new is coming. Something tiny but so big…

My HomePod performs so well according to my hearing and I can't imagine how those two little guys will get all over it.

I can remember my first dual-Silver hearing. Sound was so much more vast. Aerate should be the good term.

Low frequencies are one thing. But I don't really listen to such songs. I'm more into Genesis than AC/DC LoL !

Man I'm electrified.

Let me post a picture of my installation right now.

I'm wondering if I buy 2 legs for my future little guys or if the already-here TV table should be enough to enable speakers to live at full…

What do you think ?

I'm sorry but I can't figure out why it won't show the full image instead of just the link (even with img /img …)
Hey HublotTimer,

I think in my situation, the space between the speakers should be a little bit wider, for a better soundstage. Maybe in the future I will replace the back wall...

For the attachements:
When you do a reply, below is a field "attachement" with a 'select file' button... select the file and press the button "add attachement" on the right

It depends on whether you put more emphasis on lifestyle or take a more traditional speaker placement approach. Unless you have a dedicated room, there will always be a compromise. Some articles to read

If you choose to place them on the table, then suggest using Isoaccoustics stands, either the Aperta 100 or cheaper but just as good ISO 130 (black colour only).

Do you have personal experience of such stand having any effect on a phantom?

The reason I’m asking is that as much I can understand how they can be beneficial for a traditional speaker which does not have mechanical cancellation of forces generated by its bass driver, the phantoms do not generate any vibrations, thanks to the two woofers working in opposition.

So what would be the use of the elaborated vibration absorption then?

Many thanks for the different articles ! I’m gonna read them as soon as I posted this answer !

Concerning the attachment files : I did it several times but all I had as a result was the same webpage recharging and nothing had changed. No attachment files in my profile either.
It’s like I couldn’t attach any file....

I changed my browser. Did it again. Same result. No image to be shown. I don’t understand why...
