Phantom Reactor Bluetooth vs wifi (Airplay)
#1
Hello!
New here, and new to all this hifi stuff
Just bought the Reactor 900, and all i can say is that I’m blown..
This thing is massive!
Currently im working onboard a ship so i can only connect via Bluetooth,
When i go back home I’ll be using AirPlay to connect, and my question is,
Does the sound of wifi(Airplay) is better than the Bluetooth?
Thanks

Wifi does sound better than bluetooth on my reactor 600. But even via bluetooth it sounds great on my terrace outdoor.  With wifi you can use spotify connect directly without the Devialet app. You can send the music stored from your smartphone or Macbook.
2 phantom Gold

Dione soundbar
Spotify connect
Apple music

Thanks for the feedback.
I know that wifi signal is better, but I wasn’t shure because of the technology inside phantoms (adh)
, I’ll try to check more technical info as i do want to learn more about how speakers and frequencies and all of this works, i have a pair of rollands ds8 plugged into a motu traveler and never bothered to learn how they work till i met devialet

Wifi, and more generally "Network" sound better to me, especially with hi-res audio files or streaming hi-res via Qobuz. I use either UPnP on non-apple devices or Apple AirPlay, both over ethernet. Over wifi I had some drop offs and a long delay when clicking "Next song" on my remote, over ethernet, it's gone!
