So at one point I had a D-Prem and D120 in my house and switched them back and forth a few times. Without boring with details, I was planning on upgrading the D-Prem to a 250 Pro (which you can still do). I then got impatient waiting for the upgrade (and the prices increased in any case) so ended up selling both units and getting a D250.
Personally, I preferred the tighter and faster sound of the 120 over the softer D-Prem. Though the soundstage of the D-Prem was MUCH bigger. I could have lived happily with either.
I then had a D250 and D Prem in the house for a while. To me, the D250 had the tightness of the 120 with much bigger soundstage. It was also at the same time smoother and more relaxed (if that makes any sense).
I personally found the D Prem was quite a different beast to the 120 and 250. The 120 and 250 definitely sounded from the same family.
