Poets Of Rhythm "Practice What You Preach"

Lovingly re-created funk in the style of James Brown, The Meters, etc.
Seeing as it's the Easter weekend...

According to my trusted Gramophone Classical Music Guide (2009) this is one of the best recordings. Available on Qobuz and streaming via LMS on the Totaldac d1 server!  Smile

Neneh Cherry "Homebrew" (CD rip)

Roon says: "a seamless and unorthodox blend of hip-hop, R&B, dance music and pop".  Joyous.

Talk Talk - It's my life
Genre: 80's pop?
Together with a glass or two of excellent whisky makes for a nice relaxing start of the weekend.

Whoo-hoo! A stunningly good album, and one of my favorites. This whole album could go into Pim's thread about 'songs you had to have after listening for 10 seconds'. I'm paraphrasing from memory, so I may not have that down correct. But I'm going to put it on now. So, vinyl, CD or streaming? I'm just into a cool local microbrew, but the effect is similar; happy tastebuds, happy ears.... and memories.
Peter Hammill "Over" (LP rip)

One of my favourites, from 1977.  Being a big fan of Van der Graaf Generator, Peter Hammill's solo albums are always an interesting contrast.  This one is quite angst-ridden and (arguably) overwrought in places, but equally you could describe it as intense and heartfelt.
