HiFi News review with 90% sound quality

Not what I was expecting. A eclectic mix of styles but all very well mastered.
Track 1 could be another title to add to a bass playlist.
This one was brought to my attention by an article over on AS:

This is a long way from the type of music that I would normally listen to, but I have to say I really enjoyed it, and the sound quality is quite extraordinary.  Listening to it was kind of surprising, a sort of "wow, can my system really sound this good?!".

In fact, it sounds superb even from a miserable low bit rate You Tube version, check it out:  Shy

@Confused. Did you download the album? I like what I hear, but I’m not sure which format to go for. The D won’t play DXD, will it?
Will it play FLAC 352 kHz?

Edit: I guess going for the higher bit rate versions might be a waste of money since, supposedly, most people can’t tell the difference between low and high quality versions. All the same though, with a recording this good I might feel inclined to go for best quality, just to make sure!  Rolleyes

I went for the 24/96 FLAC.  Mindful that I failed at being able to tell the difference between 16/44.1 and 24/96 files in Mark Waldrep's blind test earlier in the year, I have stopped worrying to much about music file bitrates and similar.  It was also 5 Euros cheaper!  So I have saved enough cash for a beer.  It's just a shame the pubs are shut due to lockdown at the moment ....  Confused

OK. Thanks for that. I also failed the Mark Waldrep blind test, so this is obviously a well recorded and mastered album.
Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019

Eric Clapton once again gathered an all-star team of six-string heroes for his fifth Crossroads Guitar Festival 2019. The two-day concert event took place at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and raised funds for the Crossroads Center in Antigua, the therapy facility founded by Clapton in 1998 for alcohol and drug addicts.

After a six-year hiatus, the festival returned with renewed energy and outstanding performances including James Bay, Jeff Beck, Doyle Bramhall II, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Cray, Sheryl Crow, Andy Fairweather Low, Peter Frampton, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, Sonny Landreth, Lianne La Havas, Los Lobos, John Mayer, Keb 'Mo', Bonnie Raitt, Robert Randolph, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Jimmie Vaughan and others.
