No it is 24/96 by the optical output and Roon are looking at the possibility of it as a Roon Speakers outlet.

I haven't tried airplay so I can't compare, but CC Audio supports 24/96 via optical output so it's more than sufficient for lossless redbook etc. I can't hear any degradation in sound quality compared to Squeezebox Touch or the internal streaming through Tidal.
