Full Version: Spark iTunes playlists?

Hi,

I have a lot of iTunes playlists, over 3000 actually.  But I can´t see them through Spark.

In iTunes I have enabled "Share xml" and in Spark I have "Itunes library" enabled. I can see albums and artists, but "Playlists" are empty.

I contacted Devialet support, which replied that it should work. But for some reason it does not work here.

Does anyone else have iTunes Playlists showing in Spark? All my playlists are located in various subfolders e.g "Genres - Blues - BB king solos" etc.

Thanks!
I can see artists, albums, AND playlists. In addition to enabling iTunes library in Spark, I have the folder on my computer in which all music is stored as one of the sources. Perhaps your problem is that your playlists aren't in a folder in the Spark source list? Maybe add the folders in which your playlists are stored to the source list in Spark?

Those playlists that you see, are those created in iTunes? e.g .xml playlists?

Here is a screenshot of what I see: (note: I can see all albums and artists, but when I click playlist it´s empty)

I don't have many playlists as I'm currently in the process of ripping and compiling my new library, but those that I have are visible and playable but they are not in different playlist folders. Perhaps that's your problem, Spark doesn't like things that are out of the ordinary. Also when I first received my Phantom it initially didn't show any playlists, it was only after the recent updates that they became visible.

Maybe that´s why, I´ll create a new iTunes Library and test it. I thought it was quite common to organise so many playlists in sub-folders. Otherwise I´d have 3000 of them on the sidebar :-)

A few other issues I ran into..
1.) It labels my source as "username" - I have four Macs with the same user, it´s impossible to distinguish between them to find the right one.
2.) I also have som flac/SACD stuff in another folder, but if I add it - there is no way to filter based on source. So if the same album is in both sources, it will just show double without knowing which is which. Would be great to show/hide libraries.

But I have to say Spark is really growing on me. Lovely design. :-)

I just created a new iTunes Library and created two playlists within iTunes. Nothing showing in Spark.

The playlists you guys are seeing are playlists from within iTunes or just regular playlists you have created and stored on your hard drive?

This baffles me :-)
I have the same problem.

I have asked in this forum for posting of a few top 10 best things to know about phantoms, including spark setup, as YOUTUBE videos.
YOUTUBE videos can reveal so much more of process to set things up that words.

Hopefully someone will do a YOUTUBE VIDEO on this topic.
Hi rjalder!

I reset my dialog and phantoms and found out it is working somewhat.

It will show playlist from iTunes, but only root playlists. If you have "folders" in iTunes it won´t work properly.

Please contact support and request support, the more we are the bigger chance they will implement it. Smile
