Trying to install Dialog with two Phantoms.  Opened Spark software.  It found both Phantoms. But said need to download to update.  I clicked download. It starts.  But each time, after a few seconds a bit of data downloaded, it states that the download failed.  Asks to click download button again.  I redo that but to no avail.  It again stops.

I tried this with Spark on both my Windows computer and Android Phone (Samsung Note 3).

How to solve this problem?

Thanks,
MtnGuy

Thanks for everyone who helped on this thread.  I have something to add to the mix as to how I solved after trying all the solutions mentioned here without avail.

Here's what I tried that failed.  ALL of them below start the download and then repeatedly stop in the middle of the download bar and then said download failed.

1. Plug in Dialogue and connect with ethernet.
   Connect both Phantoms wirelessly.
Reboot dialogue, phantoms, spark, try laptop, try android phone.   Dialog does recognize the dual Phantoms - though it sometimes took a few tries.
Rehit the download button repeatedly as requested by Spark.
2. As above, but connect ONLY one phantom.
3. As above but with Dialogue and both Phantoms connected with ethernet cables.
4. As 3 but with only single Phantom.

And again, I rebooted everything repeatedly.  Yes, all these take quite a bit of time.

Here's what I tried that succeeded.

1. I first connected ONE Phantom WIRELESSLY.  Follow the video here on the 'Phantom Solo-Wifi'
http://en.devialet.com/phantom-quickstart-en/#videos

So I bypass dialogue.  Just connected the Phantom directly to wifi router.  And then went throught he process INCLUDING update.

I used my android phone but believe that computer spark should work too.

It took a fair bit of time to update.  I'll guess 15 minutes for the software to download.  I have cable internet that's pretty quick. Maybe it was my android phone.

2. I then did the same for the SECOND phantom.  I first unplugged the OTHER updated Phantom so that it does not interfere.  I then connected the SECOND phantom.

Went through the update.  Another 15 minutes to download.

3. I then unplugged everything and let it rest for a minute.

THEN I went through the normal Dialogue and Dual Phantom setup using Spark.
a. Plug in Dialogue first.
b. Then plug in both Phantoms.
etc.  I then follow the instructions in Spark and walked it all through.

All in all, half a dozen hours invested trying various permutations.  I'll say of all the consumer products I've ever invested in, this one is the buggiest by far.  But at least the approach above worked for me.

Worked.  So I needed to first update each Phantom one by one without involving Dialog and connected directly to the wireless router.

I have received so much help and encouragement on this forum - this is a very small return to this community.   Hope it helps someone else.

Thanks,

MtnGuy
Have you tried connecting your phantoms to your router with ethernet cables?
I had the same problem and reported it to Devialet. I try to translate their answer:
- Quitter Spark /Quit Spark
- Débrancher électriquement vos produits Devialet pendant 10 sec / Disconnect electricaly your Devialet products for 10 sec.
- Brancher de nouveau vos produits en commençant par le Dialog si vous en avez un / Reconnect them starting with Dialog if you have one
- Attendre 30 secondes / wait for 30 sec.
- Relancer Spark et essayer de nouveau la mise à jour / Relaunch Spark and try to update again.

This worked fine for me.

They added:
Si cela ne fonctionne toujours pas, pourriez-vous s'il vous plait / if this still doesn't work, please try:
*Brancher tout vos produits Devialet par cable ethernet à votre routeur / Disconnect all your Devialet products with Ethernet-cable from your router
* Essayer de nouveau la mise à jour. / Try again

I think you meant: Connect all your Devialet products with Ethernet-cable from your router. Wink

Another thing you could try is to uninstall Spark and then install it again.
I will assume that your problem is not related to the last update being withdrawn.

I found I had to update one Phantom at a time.
So, power up your Dialog and one Phantom only. Start the setup process.
If this is successful, power up the second Phantom and restart the setup process.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks everyone, will try all your approaches this evening.

Yesgrey, do you mean attach the phantoms directly to router AND also dialog?  Or just the phantoms directly to the router without dialog?

Is the update primarily for the Phantom?

Thanks!

Yes, connect everything to the router using ethernet cables.

@MountainGuy
Did you upgrade your Phantoms to 1.3.0, 1.4.0.5 or 1.4.1?
1.3.0.30 on dialog and 1.3.0.31 on Phantom.  Updated this morning.

They must have removed 1.4......
