91 Db speakers , 8m x 6m room , 3m listening distance - from about -3 to +7 or 8 .. d prem/giya G1's
HOWEVER I have a miniDSP DIRAC box in front of it and that applies a -8 db attenuation .. so in reality im listening from about -11 to 0.
One thing I have noticed is that my system at home needs a lower dB setting on the amp for the same volume when compared too the exact same system in Oxford Audio's demo room. My room is almost exactly the same width as OAC's demo room, but my room is longer. The demo room at OAC is quite well damped I think, having a cloth covered false ceiling and wall behind the system. My room is brick, plaster, etc., much as you would expect. So the bigger room needs less amp power! I also find differences between sources, with my CD player needing a slightly different dB setting than AIR, for example. Many factors here!

Digressing slightly, I also think my system sounds a touch better at home than at OAC (very slightly clearer & more dynamic), but for sure the bass is more even in OAC's demo room, so this might hint at what differences a "well treated" room make.

I would not say my room is well treated but I have just got the bass traps hung on my back wall. This has made a huge difference. The brightness has been greatly reduced, but yes I think I have lost a little bit of the dynamic sound. It is worth it though in my case. It has also made listening at lower volumes a lot more enjoyable.......or so it appears.

Also guessing that my db level is a lot lower than some on here because I have a lively room
Wow... I feel like a head banger then... Devialet 120, 95dB speakers, and occasionally it goes to +1 or +2!!
How high goes scale on volume?
it depends on the recording/mastering. Compressed pop -25dB and lower and still hurts my ear. Good recordings around -18dB and up to -8dB
My start-up volume is set at -34 which is a moderate listening level.
Late at night I might go down to -40.
For louder levels I rarely go past -10 which is quite loud in my 4.5 x 4m listening room.
This is listening to an Antipodes DX via USB.

However watching TV (optical) or DVD/BluRay (SPDIF) I can easily crank it up much higher.

It also depends on the ripping and subsequent replay gain that is applied. I find a difference between CD's ripped by the Antipodes and files transferred across from my computer.
Dev 120 on Giya G2 in a 10x4m room, listening distance 2.5 meters. I run the little Dev from -10 to +5
On remote it can be possible to program sub control. Is that on off only, or volume regulation too?
