Must say this was a nice suprice, works flawless on the Transporter ,for the ones still using the squeezeboxes this was good news

Who need a new streamer Smile

oon now supports streaming to Logitech Squeezebox devices! Read on to get started!
Getting Started
Step 1: The first thing you should do is turn off any LMS servers running on your network. Roon's Squeezebox functionality works by emulating LMS--if LMS is running on your network, devices may find and associate with it, or become confused.
Step 2: To set up Roon to work with Squeezebox, you'll need to turn on Roon's Squeezebox functionality.
  • Visit Settings, then select the Setup tab

  • Click yes next to Enable Squeezebox Support

Step 3: Once Squeezebox Support is turned on, you'll be able to see your Squeezebox devices in the Audio tab of Settings. Enable the device you want Roon to stream to. You can also click the small Gear icon to configure settings for your devices once they've been enabled.
Step 4 Once devices have been enabled, select then select them from the Zones menu, and Enjoy!
What kind of music bitrates can it support?

I have not tried this yet, but I think Roon has actually implemented 'SlimProto'  http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SlimProto. In that case the device advertises what it supports at connect time. In the case of Touch+EDO or squeezelite this should at least be up to 192kHz and DoP.
In my experience, Roon- > SB Touch -> Devialet 200 works extremely well and sounds just as good as LMS -> SB Touch -> Devialet.   If EDO is installed on the Touch, then it will support higher bitrates just as it does under LMS.   It's a truly remarkable accomplishment by Roon Labs!

Now, with that said, I do feel that Roon -> Air -> Devialet sounds a bit better... that is, of course, when Air is working properly.  I will say that since upgrading to firmware 9.01, it does seem more stable.  I use RoonServer and Air on Win 10.  Don't think I've seen a BSOD since the upgrade.

But, with Devialet's apparent lack of committment to Air, I am also considering the SonicOrbiter SE as a replacement of the SB Touch or, more likely, waiting to hear more about the microRendu.  I'm not holding my breath on Devialet becoming RoonReady.
Use the Transporter with own files downloaded in alac and Tidal files in flac via roon
Sound vice Roon is def better than lms when running it trough the Transporter(lms is auto shut down when running Roon)

Better than air ?? difficult to say…different i would say …its close , in my opinion air via ethernet cable is the best i have used on the Devialet, that include al streamers tested so far IMO
(never had any problems with air/ethernet cable from imac))
But i am very happy with the sound quality on the Transporter with digi out to the Devialet with Roon music server running,it actually stopped me for upgrade to a new streamer
I've not tried to stream Roon via SBT although I have one. I'm one of the 'lucky' ones with a working bitperfect Roon directly to Devialet (essentially AIR) which is a great difference in sound quality vs streaming the same track (from the same source) via the SBT. From an arcihtectural perspective streaming bit perfect to the SBT can't be better than directly (AIR) because though it is handed over bit perfect to the SBT their is the electronics and internal clock of the SBT that makes it a bit less perfect I'd say.
? That one i dident anderstand

""Transporter's digital path is not only "bit perfect", but also extremely accurate in timing precision. Clock signals in Transporter are handled not as ones and zeroes, but as precision analog signals. Specialized crystal oscillators, careful clock management, and linear-regulated logic supplies ensure the lowest possible jitter throughout the system""
Thanks for informing on is. I have not testes yet the sound quality SBT vs Air and also I was not using AIR before. However, roon tidal integration is good an I do not need to hassle with ipeng anymore. Organizstion of music is good too. Only missing thing I can see is that u can not stream internet radio.

Internet radio is high up on the priority list for the Roon developers and is definitely on the roadmap.

The delay appears to be more to do with licensing hassles than technical implementation their end.

This is good to know as I am inclined towards a full membership.
On the other hand, I could not see if it is possible to search your music on resolution type ie DSD - I want to see all my DSD files with a simple search for instant.
