Anyone here that owns Focal Sopra and drives them with Devialet or heard them with Devialet.

I listened to No.2 with Bladelius and Pimare electronics and that is one of the best speakers I have heard atleast under 20k Euro.
I heard the sopra with d400. Absolutely wonderful. FWIW, That's comparing against bw803d and Wilson Sabrina.
I heard them 3 times, once with Chord electronics and twice with Devialet as they were in short list for my new system. I found them very transparent and pleasant to listen to. They are raising a lot of interest and especially in relation to their price tag.
I anyhow selected the B&W 802D3 which were in the same ballpark as the price tag you are mentioning (20 KEUR), considering that the dealer was very motivated to close the complete deal. I found the B&W even more transparent, to the point where I was completely captivated by the music, and not listening to a system any more.

Nice to hear that.

What source and cables were used?
Have heard them with Dev 400 against Gauder Akustik Cassiano MKII. My decision Cassiano. More details, more air, tighter bass and nearer positions are able to the rear and side walls with better results overall.

Gentlemen, I have heard a lot of good things about these speakers.
So I called my dealer, spoke to him and discussed a bit then placed the order. Upon further discussion, he advised me to go with the Vandersteen 5A Carbon instead and hopefully will be my last upgrade (at a much higher price point). After a few days of contemplation, I finally decided to go with PMC Fact12 at his recommendation due to weight and cost. He offered to upgrade later to Vandersteen if I'm not pleased with the PMC.
I have relied on his sound advice quite a bit and it usually works out well. He's been around block and have listened to all these and a wide range of products.
Yes, sounds crazy, buying without auditioning. But he's been very good to me.
So now the waiting game begins, hopefully I'll get my hands on them soon and update you folks.
I heard the Spora 2 paired with a Devialet 200 and it was disappointing... . For me, it's not worth the money.
But I also have to say, that 802 Diamond was not better to my ears.

How many hours was there on the speakers? The ones I listened to was not so nice in the begining but after a week of continius playing the sound was much better.

I don't know that. They were probably relatively new. The first impression I had was that imaging is a class below it's price and the bass was not really controlled and focused. The highs were pleasing and soft, a little bit too palish for me but better then the diamond tweeter from the B&W 802.

That sounds a bit like when I first heard them with little hours on them but after a week of playing continuously in the shop they were a totally different speaker. We all have different taste so they are not pleasing all of us Smile
