Hello all,

someone in here who have heard these speakers with Devialet?

i can see that they are SAM ready. i talked with a dealer today who said they are better than the SF Amati futura's..

but that is ofcourse a dealers words..
Can't speak for the Ktema but I have spent time listening to the Accordo and they are very lovely. SAM made a huge difference, not only to bass response but (it seemed to me) across the spectrum. I would jump at the chance to hear Ktema with Devialet -- very jealous!

well it seem's like i have to.

not that many dealers that though that have both for a comparison Undecided

the dealer sounded like he realy had some knowledge about SF. He had meet the people many times, and said that this is the speaker that Franco Serblin never managed to make under SF. The speaker was to speciel and SF went in another direction with tweeters and such.

again this is what he said.

Both brands seem to use similar soft dome Ragnar Lian tweeters, are you sure this is what he said?
He Said tweeter and parts.. But that's not that important.

I'm more interested in hearing opinions regarding the Franco's vs the SF Amati 's
I heard 200 and 400 with Amati Anniversario. IMO this model of SF needs more power. I was dissapointed by sound of this system (400 +Amati). But the best sound with Devialet I heard in my life was with 250 + SF Guarneri Evolution. Just Fantastic! So maybe You should try this set up or try Amati Futura. Remember to use loudspeaker cables made from copper NOT from silver...

i will try and search such a demo.

I have soft spot for the Futuras, but i have never heard this model. and they are very hard to find in Denmark.
TDA - please excuse me if I'm going too far off topic, but...does this mean you've concluded that your Audiovectors were the main cause of the "cold" sound you talked about in an earlier thread, and are being replaced? Just curious.
I would like to keep this thread regarding the SF speakers vs the Franco Serblin. I will update my other thread after the weekend
I recall going to the Guilford Audio hifi show last year, wondering into one of the smaller rooms (still quite a big room) I saw this system rigged up to these unusual looking speakers. As it turned out, these were Franco Serblin Ktema's but at the time this was not a brand that I even knew existed. If I'm completely honest, I walked into the room, took one look at them and instantly decided they were going to sound terrible. This was not because they looked in anyway a badly made speaker, far from it, they looked rather good, but it was the very visible drivers in the front of the cabinet, which were rather small. Not realising that the unusually shaped cabinet was in fact hiding two decent sized rear facing woofers. Anyway I sat down to listen to these speakers that were going to sound dreadful, in fact I sat there for quite a long time! Why? As I recall they were a really pleasant and engaging listen. I can't really remember the exact details, but what I do remember is sitting there and enjoying what I was hearing. This is a good thing, before this I had been listening to another system, which for various reasons I found quite annoying, but if you get a system on demo that your happy just to sit and listen too, that's a big positive. So I'd say the Franco's are definitely worth investigating. Plus I seam to Recall Rufus commenting that he quite liked the this very same system, but my memory might be playing tricks here.
