Didn´t Devialet once mention somewhere something about an update which would enable a haptic volume controll using your hand on the phantom?
or was I dreaming?
They said that there will be e-ink screen and some accelerometer assisted controls over the playback. E-ink didn't gone to final production, while accelerometer controls should be available via firmware upgrade at some point.

Sorry! I've missed that you've said "on phantom". I didn't knew about this plan.

So this will be the new remote, not the current one?!
That was the original mockup, and what I was expecting. What they actually released is a pale shadow of what I hoped for, so I haven't bothered to buy one.
If they did come up with what they originally announced I would be delighted.
Promisses from Devialet are not to be taken very seriously.

I have always wondered why a company that is capable of building such high-tech is not able to build a simple remote.

Their remote for Phantom is quite good. And the Expert remotes are work of art. We just expected Phantom remote to be somewhat closer to Expert.
I was dissapointed by the downgrade.

But i must say, only changing volume without using devices Works very fine for everyone in the house.

Ones you have one, you can't miss him and Brings a lot more pleasure with the phantom experiance

The gadget geek side of me would have loved to see the e-ink screen etc. But from a practical perspective I think Devialet have missed the mark here by not even providing a mute button. On top of that, I understand from a dealer that they are still considering "shake" controls to change track etc. Obviously an accelerometer is present inside the unit as for example, when pairing, you put the volume control upside down.
