Hi guys...
Time to share how my system looks like...

I am lucky to have a dedicated listening room which only doubles as a relaxation room for the family. Size is 5m x 8m with a curved/slanted ceiling. And neighbours far away!!

System components:

= Devialet 800
- One new shiny 250, one upgraded mat black
= Rockport Altair 1
- Since now there is Altair 2. Cabinet is the same, but drivers are different now with beryllium tweeters and carbon mid drivers. I like mine more still Smile
- Altair is 4 way, with one substantial 15" woofer on the side per speaker.
- Each speaker weighs roughly 250 kgms.
= Clearaudio Master Reference turntable
- With 2 motors
- Arm 1 is SME 312S with Lyra Skala MC
- Arm 2 is Clearaudio Universal 12" with Koetsu Urushi Blue MC
= Audio Research Ref2 SE Phonostage
- I like tubes when listening to Phono. Otherwise I believe Devialet phono stage is very close in performance.

All sitting on Pagode Master Reference rack with tuned resonators. I am very happy with it.

Power conditioning is via Torus Power RM16CE. 54kgms beast of isolation transformer.
I also have an old PS Audio P300 for turntable motors.

Power, speaker and dual mono connecting (RCA/XLR hybrid) cables are Echole Omnia.
Interconnect between AR and D800 is Stealth Indra.

Router is Apple Airport Extreme AC, connected to Master with AudioQuest Diamond (0.75m). Data is sent via MacBook Pro, latest version using Audirvana+.

You see a lot of Entreq boxes. I have:
- Silver/Atlantis Tellus with Atlantis cables for Devialet's (Signal grounding on RCA's).
- Silver Tellus for Power grounding to the grounding post of Torus.
- Silver Minimus for router
- Silver Minimus for Analog (both Phonostage and turntable) I like to ground the Pagode Rack so when mainly in digital, it is connected to the rack with VanDenHul cheap speaker wires.

On the walls, barely visible, are Zilplex resonators, and two black covered BAD panels. Luckily, I don't need anything else for room treatment.

Cheers,

Kunter
Phwoar - nice rack! (and other gear too!).
Very impressive!

I don't understand the Entreq boxes at all though. I read somewhere that it is a grounding box. If this is so surely all components should be connected to one box, otherwise there is no grounding, or are all the boxes connected to each other?
How are the Entreq boxes grounded?

Love those Rockports!

Thanks..

Entreq is actually a ground "conditioning" box, which does not replace the real "protective" ground from the wall..

Signal ground from the RCA's and power ground from the Torus unit hate to be grounded together... you lose all the soundstage, etc. Analog is also suggested to be grounded separately, and it really sings different when done so. Router is completely insane to ground. And it also loves to be separate. I tried all to one place, and did not work out... This configuration is the best I achieved by trial and error so far...

The boxes are not connected to each other...

And yes, Rockports seem to be my final speakers... Probably no SAM though Wink

Cheers...

Kunter...
Yep, liking that system, especially the speakers, about which I've heard very good things. The side-on view does make them look real beasts ...

Nice - those Rockports do look very imposing!
Amazing system Kunter! Your speakers look incredible!Smile

Quite splendid! The Rockport's look like bodyguards for the KEF Blades.
Rockports are really deep... 35" (almost 90 cm)... But from the listening position they are not that bad... Around 15-16" (40 cm) only 1 inch wider than a Sasha... (spec is 20" but this is for the base of the speaker which is much wider than actual baffle)

And when driven properly, they literally disappear.

One 250 was not giving enough punch when my DPremier was being upgraded. D800 is driving them like a dream.

They are also very picky on positioning... I must have spent at least 4-5 hours until I found the right balance...

Strongly recommended.

@Kunter - Interesting comments about speaker positioning. I think they possibly share some characteristics of the KEF Blades, with opposed side mounted drivers. With my Blades, everything sounds exactly as it should, but there is one very deep bass frequency where I think they "null" slightly. This is in a very narrow band (almost atomically precise) and at a very low frequency, although they sound fine with even deeper bass. How low bass am I talking about? Well, the kind of bass you get in about 1 track in 50 listening to electronic music. With side mounted drivers they obviously interact with the walls, each other and so on, I suspect there might be some quite complex things going on! Have you ever noticed anything like this? Otherwise, any other positioning tips? (Other than the normal positioning stuff) I suspect your main tip might be to spend many, many hours carefully experimenting! (Also, please let me know if you ever need to sell these in a hurry at a very cheap price)
