Got my first Phantoms + Dialog today and after watching the Devialet YouTube Videos and some other info I though at 4 o'clock (after just waving my Anthony Gallo Reference 3.5 Speakers customer Good Bye to a very happy customer ) I will be up and running in no-time.
Now 2.5 hours later I'm finally playing in Stereo through Dialog, have to say that I'm pretty tech savvy anyway IMO. could not get the Dialog accepting my Main router and had to reset phantoms and Dialogs and re-make the whole set-up and connect to My Airport Express that is second in the chain. AND CURSE A LOT

My initial comment is ... Devialet may try to imitate Apple in especially in the boxing and presentation material, but a long way to go when it comes to execution.

Anyway my first audio impression ( playing through Spotify Connect) and standing on a long solid oak table ( as I have no stands yet) is;
Positive:
- Good 3D presentation
- Happy with the dispersion ( sounds good when moving about )
- Great resolution
- Mids good
- treble good

Negative
- Less Bass than I was expecting ( I have heard people mentioning body slam sensation bass )
- I get a slight sensation of a (small) 2+1 system I'm missing something especially down l, maybe the DSP is doing something that I'm not fond of or the speaker position is not correct

Maybe the Phantoms are not broken-in or the Spotify source is not good enough for the Phantoms and they don't hide that. I will soon set-up the Tidal account ...and then see if it's get better

I will also compare then to my old Bang & Olufsen Beolab 3's active speakers with 3 liter of volume only who rocks the socks of many bigger speakers, and have an even bigger wow factor than the Phantoms.

FINALLY I will be able to pour myself a nice glass of wine because I'M WORTH IT ...Cheers mates
Welcome to the plug & pray club.  Normally, setup of dialog and phantoms works well using ethernet. What kind of router do you have?  Are you connecting via Wifi or ethernet?
Hi SekriT,
ALL is fine now, and the Dialog is connected to the Apple Airport Extreme (?) and the "Main" ADSL is a Zylex
Thank you for offering your skills...but now i'm drinking wine and listening trough songs...
It's a Happy Friday Night here in Stockholm ( even though it lacks some Bass ...LOL )

Sounds good. Update your signature.  Reason I asked is sometimes a non-Apple router can block the guest network subnet that dialog creates. I used to have a lot of failed setups until I read the logs on my firewall.  Now it is as simple as what you see on Youtube videos.
Cheers!
Lacking bass seems a bit strange, maybe you activated "night mode" by mistake?

Unless you had an ADAM Audio Sub2100 before, then I would understand. Big Grin

Certainly get Tidal, Listen to any James Blake and see if the bass does not stun you- it should and yes make sure you do not have night mode activated

+1 for this. Happened to me too. Designed to cut the bass down a bit at night.
You should try this demo song played by Devialet during shows (it's available on Spotify).

Moderat - "A new error"

Wait a bit...
Enough bass? Smile
McChicken,

As an owner of Anthony Gallo Reference 3.1 as well,  what is your impression of the Phantoms when compared to them?

Thanks!

Hi bearcatsandor
It's to early to say ...the 3.5 alone w/o a sub was not enough for me. Quite strange as this make me sound as a Bass only craving person but I'm not.
I am very far from the Home Cinema people who like to get things to rumble, but I know when I play my selected songs what I'm missing, but as mentioned I have not matched speaker or tried running through my DSPeaker (Room-correction / DSP) + Sonos, only through Spotify Connect so honestly I'm right now comparing apples and pears.
Hope to have time tomorrow to do some more testing with the former Speaker + Sonos, set-up but it looks like I'm missing a cable or something as both the digital outputs from the Speaker + Sonos is Toslink...and I know that the Dialog and the Phantom shall have optical  / Digital inputs but in the dark it did not look like Toslink
..... But Andrew_Brown write in another thread
Maybe one day the Phantoms will have the functionality of Sonos; I am hoping so. I have a Sonos Connect linked by optical Toslink to my Dialog (and by an ethernet cable to provide an internet connection to the Dialog). Using the Sonos app gives me all the functionality of Sonos and the sound quality of the Phantoms. I do not hear any significant loss of sound quality with the extra link in the chain.
