Not wishing to clutter poor Antoine's system thread further, I thought I'd start a fresh thread for the Intona.

Well, it arrived. Very fast shipping - ordered late Thursday night, was shipped from Germany at 9am Friday and had it plugged in this evening (Monday). It's as light as a feather, very plain, and, er, ain't no prettier in the flesh - but as Daniel at Intona very understandingly said 'it's what's in the box that counts'.

Well, does it improve my system's sound?
...cant wait to find out Big Grin
What a teaser Smile
Some pictures before talking about SQ ?
Is that plastic casing!!
Technically it's acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). Wink But yes, it's plastic! Big Grin

Don't forget it's primarily an industrial product which happens to work well (IME very well) in high-end audio to isolate a USB input from a computer/streamer.

And everything one wants to know about it here as well: http://intona.eu/en/answer/1000

Edit: lots of forum chatter about it (links below copied from my system topic):

It ain't brushed aluminium, that's for sure. Wink

I saw some pics of the internals on another site and - not knowing anything about this kind of electronics really - it  looks like a very clean and simple design.  The board could easily fit in a smaller and nicer (i.e. anything other than what it's in) case. But I'll ignore the case for the time being, as I knew what it looked like before I bought it, and let's face it, it's not the deciding factor in its usefulness in my hifi.

I've got fourteen days (or thereabouts) to decide if it's staying, and so far all I'm going to say is it's still plugged in. Don't read anything into that though....  Wink

Hi Hifi_swlon,

What's your evaluation of the SQ improvement at this stage, ie after 3 days ?

Hi Antoine,

You mentioned elsewhere that you would have yours upgraded to work with the Mutec. Have you already done that or are you still waiting for Intona to be ready for this upgrade ?

I used to install satellite receivers back in Holland and the commercial stations needed to be decoded. The first decoders that came out were plastic boxes and had a lot of dramas with interference. The next batch was 'fixed' with some silver coloured spray paint on the inside. And it did the job. So bring out the spray cans! (preferably an old one containing lots of lead  Tongue )
