Interesting.  I wonder if a slight tilt would provide most of the benefit, or put another way how vertical does it need to be for the temp to drop?

I believe one of our members has the Perspex display unit for the Devialet, which holds the D at roughly 60 degrees from horizontal. Maybe they could chime in?

I'll try a test with one of the boxes of my 400 and see if a shallow angle makes any difference. I'm speculating that when the amp is level it's harder for it to form a convection current of air over it, but slanted even a little bit may help.

A limited test adding wooden blocks only about 6mm tall under the rear feet of my master 200 has that amp running cooler than the companion, when normally the companion is slightly cooler when both were flat.
