Flipping this on it's head, I was at a dealer demo recently, the amp used was a D800, and the remote used was a D200 spec item. The D200 spec remote worked just fine with it's D250 'Master'.
Having said that, as someone used to the D250 remote, the D200 remote is indeed not quite as nice. It is a subtle thing, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the D200 remote and it works fine, but the D250 (or D-Premier) version is just that little bit chunkier and smoother in feel.
