Does anyone know when can we can expect EQ?
Angel
I´m guessing within a year. I know its on the roadmap for sure as Support seem to indicate it. But timeline wise I have no idea.
The same goes for bluetooth security.
I doubt anyone knows! Probably not even Devialet themselves. However, it was not long ago that this was promised. (soon?) This is something I have found myself idly thinking about form time to time. When I first bought a Devialet amp, there was this promise of updates and developments, tentatively something every six months. This did then drift into a pattern, where something minor might come out in the autumn, but the 'big one' would arrive in time for the Munich hifi show. So it felt like you could expect something significant once a year at Munich time. Whether or not this 'major' update was any interest or use to you or not was another matter. It seamed to me that all of this went out of the window at about the time rumours of the Phantom project started, so it would appear from the perspective of an outsider that the Phantom, Dialog and Spark proved to be far more challenging than Devialet expected, and hence sucked up all the recourses that Devialet had, leaving very little left to develop anything for the Expert range. Indeed, even the major update that included SAM was mainly a spin off from the Phantom project, rather than something resourced specifically for the Expert range. Recently there has been talk of Devialet increasing the size of their software team, this is good news but I am sure that they will be busy enough sorting out the many existing issues, as well as working on the new mystery Devialet streamer board, which has to be priority as they have announced it is coming out in 2017 and they are effectively selling it now as part of the new Pro amp and upgrades. Once all this is sorted out, and being optimistic, I would say that they may indeed then have the time and resources to look at room correction. So taking everything into account, and being optimistic with a degree of realism, I would say this is possible in 2018 or 2019. Being pessimistic, it will never happen. But let's have a moment of crazed optimism, the firmware updates have been a big disappointment recently, and now Devialet have their Pro series and new streamer to showcase at Munich, maybe they will spring a surprise and announce room correction at Munich 2017. I would say that 2019 is more likely though......

Oh Hifi_swlon......  Sad     You have appear to have forgotten that we are now in the new era of Quentin Sannie's 'Love is in the AIR' Shy   Things are better now, or at least they will be 'soon'.
Yes sorry the film 'The Heat' (in case the reference was lost on anyone) just jumped into my head and I made myself laugh out loud and couldn't resist. Angel

In seriousness I'm sure they maybe will one day as I was told they were working on some EQ a year ago, but worrying about when that might happen is pointless in my opinion. Adding code to apply some EQ curves (like REW outputs into a mini dsp box) is trivial. Same for a basic EQ curve interface if they wanted to up the ante a bit. Realtime would need something more advanced than their torturous configuration/sd card thing, so that's a lot more work (new streamer board maybe?), but a 'load and set' scenario is easy. If they wanted you to have the bare bones feature, they could have done it in a few weeks. Instead they made a custom 'Sam lab' which seems to be a very shy creature. When I chased EQ or room correction I was told 'everyone is still excited about SAM - that's what people want'......

This is all expert related obvs but I'm sure the same code applies
Indeed, I too was responding from an Expert perspective. Although I am thinking that this will be a similar deal for Phantoms and Experts? If they delivered this for the Phantom but not the Expert, then I am sure this might wind one or two people up a bit! (and Devialet would not want to do that, would they?) However, it does look like the Devialet road map at the moment is concentrating on synergies between the Phantom and Expert, this can be seen from what we know of the plans for the Expert streamer boards and some other comments from Devialet recently, such as the HK video interview that was posted a while back.

In the mean time take a raspberry pi, add a player like Volumio or MoOde and install Alsaeq, a graphic equalizer simple for adjustments and a bit more sophisticated brutefir. My brutefir setup allows room correction with 131k taps filters at 96kHz with a delay of around 100ms.
In case Devialet brings this functionality to Phantoms I'm happy to get rid of the RPI2 and Hifiberry Digi+ , but for now no need to suffer and stay unhappy as the Phantoms are really great and realiable despite some SW limitations when using Spark.
I'd like this feature for sure. However, I'd rather they focus on stability first.

LOL!!!   Why? Isn't Spark already perfect ---for listening internet radios?
