3 month ago i noticed crackling noises coming from the Phantoms,  i wrote to support and they said, it was a typo in the software, to be fixed with the next update....

3 months already to fix a typo?

I think i've been bullshitted.
If you have a crackling noise when using the optical input on the Dialog it's a software glitch. If you use another input there's no noise.

That depends on how long it took them to isolate the problem, find the typo, test the fix… It might not be bullshit. But it definitely might be poor software development practise.

But surely if they knew that the problem was caused by a typo they must have already located said typo, fixed it and tested the result. And that was at least three months age. I too smell bullshit.
Oh, they said it was a typo three months ago? Then either that's a lie, or they have the worst release train in the world. Neither of these are good.

Devialet's amazing products are constantly let down by their customer service. Everything just feels out of control.
This is most likely the same noise I heard when I tried Phantoms/Dialog the previous weekend. I used toslink in on Dialog. As if someone was tearing "digital" paper. Music was still there and seemed unaffected. The noise followed the volume setting. I did not play via Spark, nor did I use toslink on one of the Phantoms so I can not confirm ragwo's comment. I am still thinking about getting a pair of Golds, but this bug must be resolved first!
I'm revisiting my Phantoms at the moment to give them another fair chance at beating my D120 system. I thought the Dialog Optical Input problems were consigned to history, but lo & behold, every 3 minutes or so, there's a 0.5sec purring/crackle. At one point months ago they seemed to have eliminated optical noise problems... have they returned?
Trouble is, dialog optical is the only way I can conveniently use them with JRiver Media Center (don't want to trail an ethernet cable over to a Phantom).
This bug get to me bad because my optical sources are not close to my phantoms.
So it's been 3 mont without vinyl, without airplay, without nothing except the use of the buggy Spark app with Qobuz...

I'm thinking more and more to sell them...

I understand your frustration that Devialet does not want to fix this bug faster. As optical input worked well in the past and still works well on Phantoms it looks very much like they do not put any priority on fixing this in Dialog. As alternative, I have running a Raspberry Pi with Moode player using wifi to stream internet radio, lossless and hires files to Phantoms via optical input. The RPi can be close to one of my Phantoms thanks to wifi and Spotify works well using Spotify connect. Qobuz I still use with Spark. Like this I have all my streaming services and local files in best quality (up to 24/192k) played on the Phantoms.

Hi Ghuinink,

I thought this might help, I have the same issue before, but what I did is this, instead of relying on the Power Line Connection, I use the ethernet CAT6.

I hope it helps
